Praying Hands
Have you ever wondered why we sometimes join our 2 hands together when praying? During my quiet time this morning, i clasped my hands together as we were taught to do and for the first time I had a sense of why. This is my take on it, not the "legalistic" explantation , so don't quote me :)
As I joined my hands together and was praying about our hearts as Gods people, connecting with Gods heart..it felt for me almost symbolic that the joining together of both my hands was just that. My right hand represented myself and my left hand represented God. There is a closeness that comes when we join ourselves to the Lord in prayer. The closeness of the one hand to the other doesn't leave space for anything to come in between that time with you and the Lord. There is heat exchange, a passion of fire between yourself and the Lord. It is a willful action on your part to draw close to the Lord in prayer.
Just take a minute and do this. Take your hands and slowly move them together and as you do this...picture one of your hands as yourself and the other as God . Join them together.. that is how close God wants to be to us. Meet with God in prayer. Feel Gods tears of joy falling over you as you made the decision to draw into Gods presence.
