Is it too easy?
The thing about Christianity that I just don’t get, is that people think it is too easy. How can serving and following God be so easy? We as people like to have things way too complicated. Things must be hard and difficult in order for us to think it is worth having or doing. People would rather bow to the east 12 times a day, because then it FEELS like they doing something, than just trust in the unseen faith they receive upon accepting Jesus as their Saviour. With God, things are just so simple; almost too simple, it seems. When you look at the way Jesus called his disciples – it was never a long, drawn out story; it was a simple “FOLLOW ME” instruction and they went. No drawn out or complicated process, just simple obedience to God. (See Matthew 9v9)
We should remember that God’s glory and presence go with us, and people will recognise the anointing and when we tell them to FOLLOW God it should be easy. They should just come because they recognize the anointing of God. Let us make it easy for people to follow Christ. I love what Pastor Deborah said on Sunday about our church being a place where people will be SAVED – HEALED – WHOLE! Our part is ONLY to get them SAVED, God does the HEAL AND make WHOLE part. Awesome!
Lord, allow us as human beings to not get in the way of what You are doing to draw people to You. May we rather be the very vessels You use to draw people to You. We understand that we have a role to play: we need to draw them in, Lord; You will save, heal and bring them to wholeness! We thank You for the many that will be saved, healed and brought to wholeness in Jesus' name.
