God’s Surprises!
Job 5v8-9 “If I were in your shoes, I'd go straight to God, I'd throw myself on the mercy of God. After all, God’s famous for great and unexpected acts; there's no end to God’s surprises.” (The Message)
Our Prayer Pastor Marietjie shared this word a couple weeks ago from the NIV version, when I looked it up in the Message Bible, it got me so excited, and I’ve been praying it out since I read it.
Isn’t God’s word just so amazing, it can make you feel so good and change any situation around? I mean, look at this verse, God is FAMOUS for great and unexpected acts; there is no end to God’s surprises. Now come on, who doesn’t like surprises, I sure do? Why do we limit God with our limited thinking? Why not allow God to be God and move mountains in our lives and calm the seas, or quiet the wind. I’d much rather let God surprise me than the enemy.
I also like what this verse tells us, to go straight to God and ask for God’s help and mercy. Isn’t that what we suppose to do, I love what Joyce Meyer says, “Don’t run to the phone run to the throne”. Funny but so true, we tend to run to everyone with our wows or our needs and our complaining. When all we need to do is run to God, go straight there that is where our help comes from anyway as it says in the Bible in Psalm 121. We don’t need to run around all over the place to look for help, God is our ever-present help in a time of need (Ps 41)
Brothers and sisters take it from one who sometimes learns the hard way, go to God first, there is nothing God can’t do, I mean God is FAMOUS for great and unexpected acts, if that is what you are looking for, then God is your Person of choice in every circumstance.
Join me in praying over this verse, making it our own and our new way of dealing with every circumstance in our lives.
God bless you all
