God is faithful
We know that “faith” is about believing that something is true when there isn’t any evidence. However, actively living out our faith requires that we take the definition a step further – it is about acting on what we know is true: God is faithful, and we can place our trust in God to accomplish what God has promised to us as believers.
Concerning Abraham, the Word says, “You see, he was trusting God so much that he was willing to do whatever God told him to do. His faith was made complete by what he did - by his actions.” (James 2:22 NLT)
God had told Abraham that his son, Isaac, would parent an entire nation. Then God told Abraham to sacrifice that son that the Lord had given to him. At that critical point, Abraham chose to live out his faith – not only believing in what he could not see – but completely trusting and surrendering to the plan of God for his life, despite how things appeared in the natural realm.
Abraham chose to be obedient, risking everything, because he knew the faithfulness of God.
No matter how it appeared, He knew that his promise was secure because it came from God. His God would come through for him, even if it meant raising Isaac from the dead. When God saw Abraham’s relentless obedience and faith, God made a way, and provided a ram for Abraham to use as a sacrifice instead of his son.
I shudder to think where I would be right now if I hadn’t chosen to walk this journey of faith, of obedience to God. Even when I thought God had abandoned me years ago, God used a friend to lead me to DGFC, a church that would show me God’s unconditional love, and that God had not forgotten God’s promises over my life.
That’s not to say my track record is perfect – it’s far from it actually! It is through God’s grace that I remain on this amazing road of faith. When I have missed the mark and deviated off-track, the Lord has restored me on the road, by always lovingly bringing correction to me, through my leaders and through the body of Christ.
Every step of the way, God continues to be faithful and delivers me from the hand of the enemy. Great is Your faithfulness, O God!
Blessings
