Comfortably uncomfortable

About two weeks ago a Pastor said “a delivery room is a messy place, but new life comes forth there”.  It really spoke to me and got me thinking about how true that is.  When we are about to birth something new in our lives, what proceeds that is not fun, it is not easy and can be very messy.  I get this very uncomfortable feeling, like I’m an alien in my own skin.  But if there is one thing I’ve learnt it is that I need to push through.  That I can’t rely on my feelings or what is going on around me, I need to focus on what God is doing and what God is birthing in me.  Sometimes it takes 9 months, sometimes a couple weeks or a couple days, timing is not as important as sticking with it. Trusting that God is busy and that God will bring all to completion if you let God.

Philippians 1:6 (NIV) - being confident of this, that God who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

God’s word says that God will bring to completion what God started in you and me, and that it will be a good work.  Also what I love about that verse is the word “confident”, we can be confident, I like that.  In the Merriam Webster dictionary the word confident is described as “full of conviction or passionate” – I love that.  With passion God will begin and carry through what God is working in us!

This past week I had to rebuke the enemy a few times and remind him who is Boss and God came through for me every time!  God can be trusted and relied upon, God has shown me this over and over in my own life, not that God has to do this, but God shows us so that it will strengthen our faith.  Actually I love reminding the enemy who is Boss in my life; I’m going to do it more often, and out loud! Make sure I’m heard!  It has changed my atmosphere this week big time.  I’m confident that God is busy and even though I don’t’ always see it, I do feel it, it is all good, God will end what God started in my life and it is going to be GOOD!

I’m going to learn this scripture off by heart so I can have it ready when I feel like I’m in another birthing place or feel that the enemy is stealing from me!  I’m not going to trust my feelings, coz they are fickle and I believe that God is busy with a good work in me!
