John 7:37-38 (NIV)  “Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty, let them come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within them."

In different seasons, God sometimes calls us to a “desert place”, where we feel spiritually dry, to take us through a time of testing and growing in our faith.  We know that Jesus’ faith was tested and exercised in the desert (Matthew  4).

Other times, we are in a spiritual barren land because our spiritual fuel tanks are on reserve, about to run out – or perhaps our tanks are already empty, and we can’t seem to move forward in our journey with God.

When I’m going through a dry patch in my spirit, it's a good indicator that I need to drink from the river of God.  Jesus told us that streams of living water actually flow within us when we drink of His presence.

Often I get caught up in the “doing” and just need to take a prayer pause.  When I simply stop to rest, and release control to Jesus, it’s really liberating to see that the Earth doesn’t grind to a halt or flip off its axis!

My own strength fails me, but when I cease striving, and come to the water and soak in the presence of God, I get refreshed, refocused, and revived.  Indeed, it is only then that I can rise up on the wings of the eagle and not grow faint or weary (Isa 40:31), for the river of God never runs dry!

There is nothing as

There is nothing as refreshing as God's river just flowing over you and you just allowing God to replenish you!  It is in that place that once again we can surrender and just allow God to be God and we can rest in God's arms!

Love our new song, Come to the Water, Come to the water of life, it will never run dry! Run to the water of life.......
