Cloud Seeding

I recently received an amazing insight on how we are meant to pray. I was shown that the prayers of the righteous are like the seeding of clouds which will unlock their bounty.
For those not sure what the seeding of clouds is, it is the scientific practice of releasing silver iodide or other molecules into clouds to make rain. This has great benefits in agricultural areas or areas where water is scarce. It sometimes can also be used to stave off catastrophic hail or fog around airports.
Our prayers are therefore the seeds of silver molecules that are sent into the clouds of God’s blessing which is already there, waiting to be tapped into. When you can see the blessing and the beauty, but for some reason your “land” remains dry, it’s time to start seeding the clouds with prayer.
In 1 Kings 8:35-36, we read this principle explained by King Solomon as he dedicates the new temple:
“If the skies are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and if they pray toward this Temple and acknowledge your name and turn from their sins because you have punished them, then hear from heaven and forgive the sins of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them to follow the right path, and send rain on your land that you have given to your people as their special possession.” (NLT)
I believe the time has come for us to seed the clouds of God’s mercy with prayer again. If your life is in drought (spiritually and physically), it’s time to receive the blessing that’s waiting on you. In your daily prayer life, pray with the knowledge that every word you speak out in prayer is a fleck of silver, around which a drop of God’s blessing will form and then fall, and water the dry land below.
